When reading threads on airsoft forums, I've started noticing trends and patterns that everyone is following. One of these trends that I hate the most is how everyone is seeking validation from everyone else for everything they want to do.
Would I look good in this?
Should I buy this thing?
I did x, is that ok?
I want to do x, but I'm not sure if it's ok to do that. What do you think?
Please love me ;_;
I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm getting annoyed from this shit.
One important thing you will need to accept is that by playing airsoft, you're weird. You're 'that guy' that most people look at with contempt. You're the one that 'still plays with toys' and 'won't grow up'. Your the dissident that wants something more than some boring hobby like watching TV. You're in a group that makes up <1% of the population.
In addition to accepting your eccentricity, you need to go a step further by not giving a fuck what others think of you. If all you want is to have a generic M4 with a single high-cap in your back pocket, get it. If you want to wear a clown suit while operating operationally, go for it. If you want to wear some obscure camo pattern,do it.
Whatever you do, stop asking for permission to do things from others. Being silly and doing quirky things is what airsoft is about. You're already weird, so at least enjoy its benefits.
