I've devised a marketing tactic that I call the Weekend Warrior Program™. (If you would like assistance implementing the Weekend Warrior Program™ at your field or any other consultation, contact me)
Here's how it works, each player receives a card when they play for the first time in a month. The card has the player's name and the year and month printed on it, along with 3 cells. Each time the player pays for admission to play at your field, one of the cells is stamped/hole-punched/etc. (The first hole is stamped when they receive the card) When all three cells are stamped, the player is able to play for free for the remainder of the month. Don't panic yet (I can see the foam coming out of your mouth) this would really help your field to make more money, despite offering the field's service for free.
The average player only spends ~$250 on admissions per year. This breaks down to ~$21 per month, less than one admission per month at the fields near me. If your field has 50 regular players, your admission revenue is capped at $12500 for the year; that probably doesn't even cover rent!
By implementing the Weekend Warrior Program™, you can incentivize your regular players to play more often. By having 3 cells on their card, they must play three times before they can play for free (tripling your admission revenue). At the same time, providing the extra service will cost you nothing, as there are almost no players who play more than 3 times per month.
Another extra benefit is that by having players accumulate stamps to play for free, you have more players playing! Some players want to play at fields that have a lot of people to play with, and won't go if they think the field will be empty. Using the Weekend Warrior Program™ can draw these reclusive players in.
Below is a chart projecting the revenue made by two identical fields; one with and one without the Weekend Warrior Program™:
(Assume 10% participation in the Weekend Warrior Program™, 20 players attend per week on average, $25 admission)
