It doesn't work in forests or jungles, it doesn't work in deserts, and it doesn't work in mountainous areas. The one place it does work is on the moon, as it's primary gray. At a distance, it blurs into an almost perfect color to work on the moon.
Where's Waldo the guy wearing UCP?
The moon's surface with a UCP and Multicam©®™ blouse pasted over it. Which pattern works better?
So in a way, this is a Universal Camouflage pattern; it works universally on the moon. It would probably also work on other similarly colored planets. In addition, the army deployed a variant of UCP that includes a reddish brown color. This pattern looks like it may work on Mars.
Is there something the army is hiding from us that we should know about?
Addendum:After thinking about this a little more, I have two theories why the army wanted UCP. Either there are aliens on the moon or Mars that the army is fighting, or Battlezone was ahead of its time and we're fighting soviets throughout the solar system.
