Since the only airsoft gun I own is a 12ga shotgun, I've found that I'm not able to compete at outdoor fields. To be more competitive, I've come up a solution to increase my gun's effective range.
I've decided to make a barrel adapter to allow me to shoot individual BBs. I bought a 590mm barrel and an m14 hopup unit. However I dun goofed when putting it together by trying to sand the bucking to fit inside the hopup unit.
Also, the hopup unit did not come with pins, so toothpicks are a good alternative.
Next, I fitted the barrel and hopup unit into a piece of PVC pipe to provide extra rigidity. Since I wouldn't be able to move the adjustment lever, I opted to use a screw to set the hopup bucking. I also had to saw off the back end of the hopup unit to allow it to fit into the action of my gun.
The completed abomination
The only thing left to do is to test it. Maybe I should stop writing about airsoft and go play instead.
